Riders Requirements

Rolling Thunders ride to the wall has become a very large and important event. More importantly the ride promotes involvement in the POW/MIA issue. Our group addresses and actively lobby’s our congressman on issues that impact the future policies of the U.S. Government and U.S. Military. This directly relates to it’s handling of those servicemen and women that become missing or captured during a time of war.

Every year our numbers have grown. This year we determined the safety of all participants needs to be addressed. we will require all riders to participate in one of three orientation classes that will be offered before anyone is allowed to join our group on this event.

  1. Any rider who has not previously attended the Rolling Thunder Orientation Classes will be required to attend one of the following safety classes (For those not attending a safety class, see #3 below)
    1.   April 18th (following monthly meeting)
    2.   May 16th (following monthly meeting)
    3.   May 26th (evening before the ride time and location to be announced)
  2. There will be no registration the day of the ride. All riders will have completed one of the orientation class and been issue the proper identification and set of ride rules.
  3. Any individual or group is welcome to join our group along the route to Washington D.C. or the return trip. However, they will be required to fall in behind the chase truck and accompanying vehicles. This will ensure the integrity of the main body of riders that have participated in the safety classes.

The Rolling Thunder demonstration in Washington, D.C. is very important and dramatic, we want to be sure that all that participate along with Indiana Chapter #1 will arrive and return safely.
